September '11

The end of August into the beginning of September brought Penny's first airplane ride, which so happened to be her first day with a stomach flu.  That's right, from our house to AZ she threw up 13 times not counting the other end surprises.  At the start I didn't think it was a flu, just chalked it up to a fluke of sorts.  After home, car, airplane, elevator, baggage claim, all locations of incidents, I realized this was no fluke.  We were both drenched by the time we climbed into Britt's car in sunny Arizona.  My heart ached for sweet P, but as with everything, she handled it like I champ.  Surprisingly, I kept my cool as well.

Despite the trip getting off on a bad start, we spent a week o' fun down there during Arizona's most pleasant time of the year.  Never, ever, ever going to live in Arizona, just saying.  Glen met up with us at the tail end of the trip.  Headstand competitions and flights are so much more fun with him around!

Pre-flu diagnosed pic, maybe that's why she looked so glum.

After a few days of this...

...she was back to this.

And the adults were up to a little bit of this.

As we were at church in AZ, I was trying to take a pic of this:

but the reverse photo was on so I accidentally took a pic of this:
Giggles during Sunday School are the best.  You'd be surprised at how mischievous you feel taking pictures at church, is there a rule against it?!  Ohh, maybe just a respect for the house of the Lord issue perhaps.

She was in heaven on the flight home!
loved.every.second.

When we got home Penny pants decided to begin crawling!
I also realized, subsequently, my addiction to my black & white striped shirt.
I've tucked it away for a while, don't worry.

She also became extra helpful, and has continued to woo us with her charm.
Her personality really started to blossom this month.
More expressive and interactive.

Then the Halloween costume search began.
She was brave enough for this one:

Started to take a liking to this one:

Then fell in love with this one:

Also turned this:

Into this:

A thank you gift to BrittNabs for a lovely time in AZ.
You really should invite me over as a house guest,
because you'll get prizes like this for my gratitude.

It's been so fun to read about last year for your family. Great job for keeping up on it! :) I love the pictures of Penny trying on costumes, playing dress up is so much fun.
